Suspects nabbed in break-in

Davis Bay

Two suspects are in custody after a Davis Bay retail store was targeted by thieves in the early hours of Thursday, April 20.

A security company alerted store employees and Sunshine Coast RCMP of an alarm sounding at the business, located in the 4700 block of Sunshine Coast Highway. Responders found the front glass door smashed and multiple items stolen.

Police reviewed surveillance camera footage that captured images of two suspects who were familiar to police.

The two suspects were located and arrested near their residence and most of the stolen items were recovered, RCMP said.

“Having an alarm system and surveillance cameras is a great asset to assist police in jump-starting the direction of an investigation,” said Const. Karen Whitby with Sunshine Coast RCMP.
