Fire destroys Roberts Creek workshop

Emergency Services

Firefighters were called out to a blaze on West Reed Road in Roberts Creek Tuesday evening.

Roberts Creek Volunteer Fire Department Chief Pat Higgins said the call came in around 6:10 p.m. after fire broke out in a workshop on a property in the 1800 block of West Reed.

The department responded with four trucks and 14 firefighters, but the building was completely engulfed in flames when they arrived.

The workshop was destroyed, but fire crews were able to keep the blaze from spreading to the nearby home.

Higgins said they had to shut down a section of Highway 101 in order to get a hose across to the nearest hydrant.

The cause is still under investigation. There were no injuries.
