Crews from the Roberts Creek Volunteer Fire Department were called out around 8 a.m. May 4 to deal with a house fire in the 1400 block of Park Avenue. Fire Chief Patrick Higgins said four trucks and 11 firefighters from Roberts Creek were at the scene along with four members from Gibsons, who were relieved by five fresh firefighters later. No one was injured and the cause remains under investigation. Higgins said the response was the first under a new automatic mutual aid agreement with the Gibsons Fire Department, meaning Gibsons members got the page at the same time.
