Some residents in Gibsons reported feeling a 4.0 magnitude earthquake that hit northeast of Powell River at about 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18.
There was no damage, but the quake was reportedly felt in Gibsons and in areas of Port Alberni, Powell River, Cumberland, Vancouver and Victoria.
The 4.0 magnitude quake was at a depth of about 17 km and was located about 139 km north of the Sunshine Coast near the end of Bute Inlet.
