ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Provincial New Democrats will gather in St. John's, N.L. this weekend to decide the fate of party leader Lorraine Michael.

Last October the NDP was the focus of a very public meltdown after four sitting caucus members wrote a letter to Michael asking for a review of her leadership before the next election.

Two caucus members, Chris Mitchelmore and Dale Kirby, eventually broke ranks and joined the Liberals.

The party plans to discuss a range of issues, but the main focus will be Michael's leadership.

Party officials have not said what level of support Michael will need in order to remain leader.
