FREDERICTON - New Brunswick Liberal Leader Brian Gallant says his party would create 6,000 daycare spaces at a cost of $120 million over five years if elected to govern on Sept. 22.

Gallant says more families would be eligible for financial help through the province's Daycare Assistance Program by raising the maximum net income allowed, which currently stands at $41,000.

The Liberals say they would also create a registry of available daycare spaces so that parents can find care for their children more easily.

Gallant is also promising to help offset the cost of infertility treatments and adoption expenses by introducing tax credits.
