Meatless Mondays a hit

"Yes" was the quick response from nine restaurants and one deli when we asked if they'd honour 25 per cent off coupons for vegetarian specials on March 10.

Our local Meatless Mondays group is very grateful for support from: Boomer's, Blackfish, Gramma's, Gumboot, IGA Deli, Lighthouse, Molly's, Old Boot, Ricky's and Ty's Fine Foods.

The Old Boot could be named the restaurant winner, with 20 coupons redeemed. IGA deli's special was so popular they sold out by mid-afternoon, but they honoured the coupons the following Monday, too.

We all knew we had awesome cooks on the Coast, and management responsive to customers' requests. Thanks to so many of you who dined out (or in) meatlessly on March 10, displaying your interest in vegetarian options (and a good deal). We may just make Meatless Mondays a tradition on the Coast.
