Local man charged in break-in

Sunshine Coast RCMP have arrested and charged a 27-year-old Sechelt man for his alleged connection to a recent break-in to a Sechelt business. Troy Spragg has been charged with break and enter.

Sunshine Coast RCMP have arrested and charged a 27-year-old Sechelt man for his alleged connection to a recent break-in to a Sechelt business.

Troy Spragg has been charged with break and enter. He was released from custody with a court appearance set for Sept. 25.

On Sept. 11 at approximately 2 a.m., RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at Rent It Canada located in Sechelt.

"A witness reported seeing a male wheeling a large red generator away from the business," said Sgt. Russ Howard in a news release. "Police attended and confirmed the break and enter. Police conducted an investigation and subsequently arrested the suspect."

The stolen generator is described as a red Milwaukee 6000 generator valued at $2,400. The generator has not been recovered as of yet. Anyone with any information that may assist police in recovering the stolen generator is asked to contact the Sechelt detachment at 604-885-2266 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
