Dempster starts out strong

Gibsons Ryan Dempster made his spring training debut with the Boston Red Sox a memorable one on Tuesday, Feb. 26 pitching two perfect innings.

He didn't allow a walk and struck out two in the Red Sox 15-4 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, which saw the Cardinals score 12 runs off Red Sox relievers in the final few innings.

Dempster then followed that up with an impressive three scoreless innings against the New York Yankees on March 3. He gave up one hit over the three innings in the 5-2 loss.
