Jan. 10, 1941 - Feb. 22, 2024
Frank was born in 1941 at the old St. Mary's Hospital in Garden Bay and raised in Pender Harbour. In high school he met his wife, Diane (née Davis) and they married in 1968. In the 1970's they had Nathan, Danielle and Angeline. Nette, their chosen daughter, joined the Gough family in 1992.
Frank was a funny, caring, warm-hearted man who was easy to like and quick-witted. His bright blue eyes would sparkle when he had a joke to share. He lived a full-hearted life and shared in the joy and the pain of the people in his community in an abundant and empathetic way. Frank had many jobs but he loved being out on the sea the best and with his son Nathan he went out every summer on his gillnetter called the Solution - which he joked was nothing but problems.
Frank's demeanor did not change despite suffering from Parkinsons and dementia. In his final four years, in the care of the excellent staff at Totem Lodge/Silverstone, his warmth and humor was still apparent in his little gestures and gentle nature. He believed in God and found solace from his suffering in the beauty in life. We lost him slowly as dementia set in, but even after he quit joking around, he still gave you that blue-eyed sparkle when you said something funny.
He died in his sleep, surrounded by his loved ones, in a room with a view of the sea. A celebration of life for Frank will be held at the Pender Harbour Community Hall on April 20th, 1pm-3pm, followed by reception at Brickers Cidery 4pm-9pm. All are welcome.
