Iceland welcomes Coast author

Brewing Evil

“Murder, intrigue, revenge and denial of love [featuring pioneering Icelanders in the historical fiction Brewing Evil series], are cleverly woven together by author Carol Gardarsson,” said a review in the Icelandic Canadian magazine.

The Prime Minister of Iceland has awarded local author Gardarsson a grant to ensure that the series would come to Iceland. The first book, A Witch is Born is scheduled for release at the end of this month in Reykjavik, translated into Icelandic (Salka Publishing).

“I am absolutely thrilled by the support of Iceland’s Prime Minister, The Hon. Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, as well as the encouragement of The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson, among many others,” said Gardarsson.

The series also represents the extensive research of her Reykjavik-born husband, Garðar Garðarsson, who views the series as his legacy to his homeland.

Brewing Evil: A Witch is Born is the first book in Gardarsson’s five-book series followed by: Deadly Spells, Dark Forces, The Book of Petur and the final book, Witch Water.

They are available locally at Windows on the Water in Gibsons, in Sechelt at Talewind Books and East 4th Vintage, and at Etcetera in Madeira Park.
