Great service with this ferry run

I am a once-a-week, year-round, commuter to Gambier Island via Gibsons.

Previously we made our trip from Vancouver in our boat at a fuel cost of $100 return. Before this, we took the Mercury water taxi from Horseshoe Bay to Gambier harbour on Gambier Island, parking the car at Horseshoe Bay at a cost of about $51 for three days. The water taxi was $25 each way per person. Then a 1.5 kmwalk into our house. Total travel cost for this method $151. We have now moved the boat to Gibsons and take the ferry at a cost of $50.75 (using the Experience Card, which is seldom mentioned by anyone having issues with fares.)

I do feel for working commuters affected by the 6:30 a.m. Sunday cuts, but have always had great service using this ferry run, and find it a bargain to bring our car to Gibsons for $25 each way for two people and the car.
