Free up sidewalk space

The following letter was sent to Sechelt council and copied to Coast Reporter. To Sechelt mayor and council: Spring is in the air and once again racks of clothing obstruct the sidewalk on the south side of Cowrie Street.

The shopkeeper tells me that scooters are not supposed to be on the sidewalk. The law says that pedestrians are people walking, in wheelchairs or on scooters.

If the bylaw officer is not able to resolve this problem then the District should remove the tree and raised curb around it. This would free up about five feet of sidewalk for pedestrian use.
