Virtuoso piano trio in CRS debut

The Berick - Mercer - Park Trio makes its Coast Recital debut this Sunday afternoon, Nov. 27, at 2:30 p.m. at the Raven’s Cry Theatre. The concert will feature music by Franz Josef Haydn, Eugene Ysaye, Gabriel Cassadó and Franz Schubert. CRS artistic director Frances Heinsheimer Wainwright will host a pre-concert chat with the musicians at 1:30 p.m.

Yehonatan Berick, violin; Rachel Mercer, cello; Angela Park, piano – the acclaimed musicians of the Berick - Mercer - Park Trio – have appeared at many international festivals and concert series.

Berick performs internationally, and with many Canadian ensembles, as well as at festivals in Marlboro, Ravinia, and Ottawa. He is Professor of Violin at the University of Ottawa. He performs on a 1761 violin by Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi, on loan from the University of Ottawa.

Mercer, Associate Principal Cello of the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, has appeared as soloist and chamber musician across five continents. She is cellist of Ensemble Made in Canada, the Mercer - Park Duo, and the Seiler Trio, and is Artistic Director of the 5 at the First chamber music series in Hamilton. She performs on a 1730 Newland Joannes Franciscus Celoniatus cello on loan from the Canada Council Musical Instrument Bank.

Park’s versatility as both soloist and chamber musician has led to performances across North America, Europe, Japan and Mexico. She is a founding member of the award-winning Ensemble Made in Canada, the Mercer - Park Duo, and the Seiler Piano Trio. Recent performances include concerts with Rachel Mercer for the Health Arts Society of Ontario. She is Artist-in-Residence at Western University with Ensemble Made in Canada.
