Yes, they are back for a third season! Sechelt's own talented performing troupe of Vaudeville performers, The Funtastics, are ready to bring you two hours of fun-filled, old-fashioned entertainment, Vaudeville style.

Performances are Friday, April 26, at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at 3 p.m. and Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m. at the Sechelt Seniors' Activity Centre. Tickets are $15, available at the Senior's Centre or at Laedeli in Sunnycrest Mall in Gibsons.

The Funtastics are between 58 and 84 years of age and perform with undeniable energy. The group has grown from 17 members in the first year to an incredible 29.

Susie Francis brings more than 50 years of Vaudeville experience as artistic director. The popular Miss Berni G brings years of distinct piano magic, tailor made for Vaudeville, and percussionist and drummer Al Burns is back by popular demand.

Priscilla Hendriks takes on production, while Mary Caple is the stage manager. Taking on the enormous job of costume mistress is Connie Achterberg, while sound and lighting is shared by Larry Baker, Tom Morris, Roy Boutilier and Don Saari. A backstage group of talented enthusiastic volunteers completes the crew.

After their production last year, The Funtastics represented the Seniors Centre in the Canada Day parade and won the best float award for the second year in a row.

Some of the entertainers, led by Miss Berni G, put on a successful fundraiser in September for the purchase of a portable piano. This year there will be 29 performers on stage with talents encompassing a vast range of musical instruments.

Vaudeville is zany, corny, outrageous, lots of fun and very entertaining. Kids love the colourful costumes and the skits. Vaudeville has come to Sechelt in a big way with its tremendous show of singing, dancing, magic, wisecracks, skits, fun and laughter.

This years' performance takes you around the world on a musical tour of China, Britain, Germany, France and other countries, ending on the American continent. The show is set in the Vaudeville era we know so well, with spectacular costumes as well as a few surprises along the way.
