Summer solstice on Shoal Lookout

Body of Light

D. Houghton Gallery announces its support of the theatrical work in progress, Body of Light, with an exclusive event at the home of Dolores Houghton on Shoal Lookout in Gibsons on June 21, the summer solstice.

Body of Light, created and produced in conjunction with the Sechelt Arts Festival by Gordon Halloran and Caitlin Hicks, is a multi-genre theatrical event scheduled for Raven’s Cry Theatre on Oct. 25.

The afternoon/evening event on June 21 will feature drinks and hors d’oeuvres with a stunning view of Howe Sound and Keats Island, plus preview clips introducing Body of Light, as well as short theatrical presentations from the work in progress.

Additionally, guests will experience an exclusive preview of 11 pieces from a recent body of new work in sculpture by Halloran. His installation, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, recently premiered as a one-man show at Sculpturesite/New Leaf Gallery in Sonoma, the largest contemporary dealer of sculpture in western United States. This premiere exhibit on Shoal Lookout is the first event hosted by D. Houghton Gallery, which will soon open its doors in Gibsons at 418 Marine Drive.

Admission to the event is by donation to the indiegogo campaign for Body of Light at www.indiegogo.com/projects/body-of-light.
