Local musicians Robotic Horse Mechanical Sun (RHMS) presentOut of the Coldon Nov. 30, a performance to raise funds for the Sunshine Coast cold weather shelter.

RHMS will perform a set list of collaborative originals. The songs tell real life tales close to the heart and the funny bone. With a refreshing twist on their alt-country style, the variety of this show is sure to entertain.

The evening will also feature performances by Black Liquor (fronted by local favourite Mike Tandy) and a premiere performance by Rob Wilk.

The licensed event will be held at the Gibsons United Church Hall. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15, available at Strait Music (Sechelt), MELOmania (Roberts Creek) and Gaia's Fair Trade (Gibsons). Tickets will not be available at the door.

The Sunshine Coast cold weather shelter opened on Nov. 15 with a mandate to operate until the end of March.

More funding is needed to keep the doors open past December. St. Hilda's Anglican Church operates the shelter with support from Sunshine Coast Community Services Society.

"We are very excited and appreciative to have the support of local musicians to host this fundraising event," said Kelly Foley, community connections manager with Sunshine Coast Community Services Society. "Events like these will help raise money and awareness and ultimately reduce the number of homeless people in our community who are sleeping outside in the cold and wet this winter."
