Holy Crap Cookbook launches in Sechelt and Gibsons

Book Launch

Join Corin Mullins and Claudia Howard as they celebrate the release of The Holy Crap Cookbook: Sixty Wonderfully Healthy, Marvellously Delicious and Fantastically Easy Gluten-Free Recipes (Douglas & McIntyre, $22.95) with two Sunshine Coast events.

The book launch will take place at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre (5714 Medusa St., Sechelt) on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. Refreshments and appetizers made from the book’s recipes will be served, and books will be available for sale from Talewind Books in Sechelt. In Gibsons, there will be a book signing at Seasoned Kitchen (Gibsons Park Plaza, #108 - 1100 Sunshine Coast Hwy.) on Saturday, Nov. 19 from noon to 2 p.m. and cookies made from the book’s recipe will be served.

At both events, Mullins and Howard will sign books, and will give away a free bag of Holy Crap Cereal with every book purchased. There will also be a gift basket draw.

Starting with HapiFoods’ cereals and adding other healthy ingredients, The Holy Crap Cookbook emphasizes a plant-based, gluten-free diet and includes 60 simple-to-prepare recipes “that harness the power of superfoods,” reads a press release announcing the events. “From fibre and protein-packed breakfast fare like refreshing smoothies and perfect pancakes to satisfying savoury dishes and decadent desserts that don’t sacrifice nutrition for flavour, all the recipes in The Holy Crap Cookbook are in keeping with the Holy Crap philosophy: what you eat should be good for you and taste great.”
