The Sunshine Coast Spinners and Weavers Guild is excited to invite the community to its 25th anniversary fibres plus Christmas sale this weekend at the Seaside Centre in Sechelt.
The sale runs this Friday, Nov. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Featured artists include: Stephen J. Murphy from Trout Bookbinding and Arts in Roberts Creek, Lyndon Bradford, who specializes in wood turning and wood working from Gibsons, Elaine Futterman and Michael Allegretti, from Creek Clayworks in Roberts Creek, Kerri Luciani from Kerri Luciani Designs, specializing in textile-related jewelry from Gibsons, and Yvonne Stowell from Fibre Works Studio and Gallery in Madeira Park.
Of course, the guild will also have fibre things for sale. This year, things are different as the guild celebrates 25 years. They are celebrating this auspicious date by presenting a fibre exhibit in the upstairs area of the Seaside Centre. You will see the best of the best fibre creations that guild members have made over the past few years. None of these items are for sale, but they are there for your viewing pleasure.
Downstairs, you will find for sale hand spun fibre for your knitting and felting needs, warm woollies to keep the winter chill off heads, hands, necks, feet and shoulders, one of a kind fashions, dolls and bears, hand woven blankets and shawls, Christmas decorations, and the most popular hand woven tea towels that sell like - well - hot cakes. If it is spun, woven, knitted or felted it will be at this Christmas sale.
