Ticket sales close this Monday, Jan. 19 for the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden’s Grow the Garden Gala, to be held Saturday, Jan. 24 at Sechelt Seniors Centre at 5:30 p.m.
This is the Coast’s premier gala, and the Garden’s most significant fundraiser. It helps fund all aspects of the Garden, including programs for all ages, creating and maintaining the gardens themselves and keeping this community treasure open while continually improving the experience for local and off-Coast visitors year round.
This year’s enticing Gala theme is The Four Seasons. Chef Alan Barnes of Ricolan Chef Services will supply a superb dinner. The Lighthouse Pub and Liquor Store has donated enough champagne for a bubbly welcome. Local jazz by the Steve Giltrow Trio is courtesy of The Hearing House. Intriguing auctions — silent plus live with primo auctioneer Ed Hill — have been supported very generously by local businesses, artists and other donors. The list of auction items will emerge next week on the Garden’s website, www.coastbotanicalgarden.org and include a number of singular experiences, exquisite artworks and many choice surprises.
