Very gratified by the rave reviews and standing ovations that were received for his original musical The Quest in June of this year, Kenneth Johnson is now launching another new musical titled Castles in the Snow for the Christmas season.
This all original show is filled with delightful new music for the holiday season and takes the audience on a journey of a young boy’s memories of snowy winters, along with a gentle reminder of the Christmas story.
Johnson’s Sunshine Coast cast and musicians have been in rehearsal since September and are delighted to bring this new musical to Pender Harbour for its premiere performances next Thursday and Friday, Dec. 11 and 12, at the School of Music in Madeira Park.
Castles in the Snow is written, produced and directed by Johnson. Sets are by Derek Alltree, with lighting and sound by Glenn Sernyk.
Johnson is an award-winning composer/musician who writes music and words in a wide variety of styles, often classically influenced with a jazz or pop flair. He composes and produces musical stage productions, choral music and orchestral works, as well as a wide variety of songs and piano scores. He is well known for his original piano works and has released more than a dozen solo piano recordings.
