Best of the blues comes to Pender

Pender Harbour Blues Festival

Pender Harbour is the place to be on June 5, 6 and 7, to take in the 12th Annual Pender Harbour Blues Festival. Come see some of the best blues musicians on the West Coast at unique venues around scenic Pender Harbour.

Shows run nightly at the Garden Bay Pub, featuring Portland’s finest guitar player, Lloyd Jones, Paul Pigat of Cousin Harley, and boogie-woogie piano man Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne. See the ever popular all star Sunday afternoon jam hosted by Tim Hearsey, with many special guests, including Karen Graves.

Enjoy a fabulous dinner at The Painted Boat Restaurant while being entertained by Juno Award winner Murray Porter on Friday and Saturday nights.

New this year  will be dinner shows at the Harbour Spirit Centre in Madeira Park. Friday night the music is by the Blues Line Trio and on Saturday night, Gary Comeau.

Beautiful scenery, delicious cuisine  and the wonderful music of Dave Paterson and Steve Hinton are at the Garden Bay Pub dining room for Friday and Saturday dinner shows.

Vancouver indie soul band The Boom Booms will be rockin’ the dance party at the Pender Harbour Community Hall on Saturday night.

Legendary blues man Jim Byrnes will lead the Sunday Morning Gospel Show at the Pender Harbour School of Music.

Free shows on Saturday afternoon are at the blues stage in Madeira Park featuring Peter vanDeursen, Jason Buie, Paul Pigat and Murray Porter. There will be an artisan craft fair also.

And at John Henry’s Marina, see local favourites Joe Stanton and Simon Paradis.

All venues are accessible by boat, and the SloCat will be offering a shuttle service around the Harbour.
