The Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden has two workshops this weekend to get you going.

This Saturday, Jan. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Sparling Pavilion at the Garden, instructor and arborist Cheryl Topping will explain how plants respond to pruning, demonstrate techniques outdoors and answer your questions. Admission by donation, $10 to $15 is suggested. 

On Sunday at 1 p.m. learn how and why to prune fruit trees from Topping in a Roberts Creek orchard. Registration and pre-payment are required, as space is very limited. Admission is $15 for Garden members or $20 for non-members. Learn some of the goals, methods and tools for keeping fruit trees healthy and productive. Address provided upon registration.
