The Grade 6/7 class of École du Pacifique (the Francophone Public School in Sechelt), would like to express an extremely large merci for all the support and generosity given by the Sunshine Coast community.

The 23 students are impatiently awaiting the arrival of their "twins," a class of Grade 6 students from Montréal.

After many positive fundraising activities and a lot of hard work, the École du Pacifique class is delighted to offer the students from École Notre Dame du Foyer school a full schedule of varied and enriching experiences.

This year, these two classes were among the eight Francophone classes across Canada to be chosen by l'Association canadienne d'éducation de langue française (ACELF) to participate in a cultural exchange program. ACELF covers the cost of airline travel and then each class is responsible to fundraise to cover costs for the activities planned in their respective communities.

The students from Montréal will arrive on the Sunshine Coast on April 2 and will spend nine days discovering the beauties of a smaller community and West Coast life. The Québec students will be billeted with the École du Pacifique students and their families for the duration of their stay.

From May 11 to May 19, the École du Pacifique class will travel to Montréal and discover what it is to live in a real Francophone environment as well as in a big multicultural city.
