A new camera club is starting up on the Sunshine Coast.

Noted local photographer Mark Benson has offered to lead the monthly meetings. The purpose of the club is to enjoy photographic activities while improving ones skills.

The club will look at topics such as nature photography, macro photography, black and white, and managing files. There will also be workshops on portraiture and long exposure.

On Nov. 5, the focus is on "getting to know your camera," and at the Dec. 3 meeting, Benson will review "basic composition."

Participants could also have assignments to bring back to the group for discussion.

The meetings will take place on the first Tuesday of each month at the Port Stalashen Clubhouse on Field Road in Wilson Creek at 7:30 p.m.

Attendance fee is $5 per person, payable at the time of the meeting.
