SAR makes its ‘top pick’

Each year Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue (SAR) presents the Top Pick Award to a member who has given much time and effort to the team over the previous year.

In 2014, the award was given to Richard Till for his tireless dedication towards training, especially his rope rescue skills. Till is a long-time member of the team and is also a qualified search manger.

In 2013, the award was presented to Rod Moorcroft who served two consecutive terms as president and was a leading force of the team during those two years. Moorcroft was also the recipient of the award in 2004.

The award was presented by honourary past chairman Harry Almond at the recent SC SAR annual dinner.

Previous recipients of the award were: Bill Lawson (2000), Harry Almond (2001), Sue Duxbury (2002), Robert Allen (2003), Rod Moorcroft and Megan O’Donnell (2004), Peter Ronning (2005), Alec Tebutt (2006), Stephanie Read (2007), Jim Janke (2008), Eileen Bonaguro (2009), Jim Janke and Mike MacKown (2010), Sheree Haydu (2011), Eileen Bonaguro [posthumously] (2012), and Rod Moorcroft (2013).
