The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives was recently the recipient of two prestigious awards for its Time Travel Sunshine Coast heritage walking tour project. The museum was awarded a Heritage BC Award of Outstanding Achievement at the Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby last month. The award is their highest honour and recognizes excellence in heritage advocacy, awareness and planning.

Also last month in Burlington, Ont., the museum was awarded a bronze in non-personalized interpretation from Interpretation Canada at their annual conference. Funded by the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation, museum staff worked with local actors, filmmakers, musicians and residents of Christenson Village to create interpretive content for 16 heritage sites on the Sunshine Coast.
