Once again the Sunshine Coast Chapter of KidSport been successful in its application for NHL equipment, and three sets of hockey gear were just delivered to the Sunshine Coast

"This is the third year that the Sunshine Coast KidSport Chapter was successful in getting NHL hockey gear for youth. We are thrilled that some of the kids on the Coast can benefit from this gear," said Diane Wagner, co-chair of KidSport.

The equipment was presented last Saturday, Jan. 18, while CBC and the NHL celebrated its annual Hockey Day in Canada.

"Our focus is assisting with registration fees, but when an opportunity for equipment arises, we pursue it," added KidSport director Jim Gray. "The equipment we received from the Goals and Dreams Fund will equip three youngsters from head to toe."

Naturally, the Sunshine Coast Minor Hockey Association was thrilled with the donation.

"Three lucky kids are going to be outfitted in brand new gear when they play hockey next year," said association equipment manager Steve Brooks, as he thanked KidSport for helping youth on the Coast pursue their athletic dreams.
