Royal Canadian Legion Branch 219 Roberts Creek celebrated its 70th anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 12 with a community barbecue, games for the kids and a beer garden.

As part of the festivities, current Legion president Diane McIntosh (centre) was pleased to present a $1,000 bursary to Elphinstone graduate Iris Smallwood (with blonde braid beside McIntosh) towards her education as a Pharmaceutical Technician.
