Gibsons authors share their insights

Children's Learning

Michael Maser and Pamela Proctor will lead a discussion about ways of facilitating self-directed personalized learning and constructing a framework for 21st century learning in a presentation next month in Gibsons.

As experienced educators and leading-edge researchers, they will share ways to enable children to develop the skills for succeeding in our changing and evolving society. They will talk about helping children to learn skills in relationship with others through communication, collaboration, co-operation, critical thinking and creativity.

Maser is the author of Learn Your Way, co-founder of the SelfDesign Learning Community and a faculty member of SelfDesign Graduate Institute, one of B.C.’s most innovative independent online schools, oriented to supporting personalized learning (www.selfdesign.com).

Proctor is the author of the Honouring the Child series and has travelled to every part of B.C. to share her experience with parents and teachers from her 35 years of innovating active, creative, child-centred learning in Vancouver public schools. See more at www.honouringthe
