Fall Fun Fest still on

Elphinstone Secondary

It’s a bit delayed because of the teachers’ strike, but staff and students from Elphinstone Secondary School are rallying together to play host to the annual Fall Fun Fest, this Tuesday, Sept. 30.

The event was created to remember and celebrate beloved students Trina Borley and Hanna Anderson who were killed in a tragic car accident.

The whole community has come together since then to help raise thousands of dollars, which have been put towards student bursaries. The event is now one of the major fundraisers for the Sunshine Coast chapter of KidSport and for the PE department at the school.

This year’s Fall Fun Fest kicks off with a student (Grad 2015) versus teacher slo-pitch game at Brothers Park at 4 p.m. Then the fun shifts over to the school’s back field at 5 p.m. for a barbecue, sponsored in part by Gibsons IGA, a raffle and fun games and entertainment for the whole family. Try some mini-golf, pie a teacher, or jump in the bounce castle.

All ages are welcome to this fun, community event.
