Emergency shelter officially open

St. Hilda's
shelter

The emergency shelter located in the annex behind St. Hilda’s Anglican Church was the scene of extensive renovations this past summer and fall.

The bright new facility is the result of hard work by the Rotary Club of the Sunshine Coast-Sechelt. Along with the work and monetary donation from the Rotarians, the church, District of Sechelt, Town of Gibsons and the Sunshine Coast Regional District and many local businesses also contributed to the project.

Here David Fedor, president of the Rotary Club, Brenda Wilkinson, emergency shelter coordinator, Bonnie Paetkau, people’s warden of St. Hilda’s, and Rotarian Clark Hamilton officially open the refurbished shelter on Nov. 6.
