The birds and bees up at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden will be rocking Wednesday, Aug. 8 as legendary blues musician Jim Byrnes sings the blues amid the green.

Byrnes is accompanied by Lindsay Mitchell, lead singer of rock band Prism, and introduced by media favourite Vicki Gabereau.

Byrnes is back for his second summer concert at the garden.

This summer fundraising event draws its audience from the Coast and Metro Vancouver. With the ongoing support of the garden's partner sponsor, Sunshine Coast Credit Union, the garden is now open seven days per week, and is a popular destination for visitors to the Coast, including concert-goers. Doors open at 5 p.m. with savory appetizers from Nicli Antica Pizzeria. Libations have been donated by four summer thirst-quenchers, Steam Whistle Brewing, Whistler Brewing, Howe Sound Brewing, and Trialto Wines.

Botanical Garden Society president Paddy Wales promises, "Good wine, delectable nibbles, rockin' great blues and a deep selection of cold beer. A perfect combo for a summer evening, and all in a stunning setting."

The show is presented by Jeff Sandler from Raymond James/mylifesavings.com, Bill and Ali McCaig, owners of Vancouver`s award-winning Nicli Antica Pizzeria, and is organized by Bill Vigars of Vigars PR.

Only 120 tickets are available for the show on the garden's Sparling Pavilion terrace, 5941 Mason Road, Sechelt. Call 604-740-3696 or email info@coastbotanicalgarden.org to reserve today.
