The Gambier Island Community Centre will host a reading by former island residents Steve Sell and Sheila Weaver this Saturday, Sept. 6, from 1 to 3 p.m.
They will be joined by other Sunshine Coast authors reading from Elemental: An Anthology, a lively collection of fiction, non-fiction, humor, and poetry.
Elphinstone Logging Focus (ELF) is hosting a double bill fundraiser at the Roberts Creek Hall this Saturday. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the movie starting at 7:30. Northern Grease, a film that premiered at the 2014 Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival, follows a road trip to many of the big energy projects in northern B.C. The evening will round off with live music from Carmanah, a roots genre band from Victoria. Tickets are available at MELOmania at $20 each.
