Pender Harbour & Egmont

Women’s Connection, a group of women of various ages and backgrounds who meet twice a month, welcomes guest speaker Sue McCullock to their meeting Oct. 10. McCullock (daughter of co-chair Judi Sherman) is a gift and estate planning development officer at the BC Cancer Foundation. She will be speaking to raise awareness to what the foundation is, the function and who they support and on women’s cancer and amazing research in B.C. She will also address the tax advantages and vehicles to legacy giving.

Harbourside Friendship welcomes Chef Marcus from Mad Park Bistro demonstrating cooking with mushrooms on Thursday starting at 10:30 a.m.

Next Friday, Oct. 13 Pender Harbour Music Society’s Coffee House at the School of Music welcomes to the stage Katrina Bishop, Ken Dunn, Anna Green and Chelsea Rubin. Doors open at 7 p.m., music at 7:30 p.m.

The Pender Harbour Aquatic Society serves as the interface between the community and the Pender Harbour Aquatic and Fitness Centre. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an opportunity for all community members to provide input to the society or to volunteer to serve on the board. This year’s AGM will be held in the Pender Harbour Senior Secondary School Library at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23. All are invited.

The Pender Harbour Blues Society is pleased to present the ninth annual Halloween Howl Saturday, Oct. 28 at Pender Harbour Community Hall. This fantastic evening will headline the fabulous Steve Kozak. Tickets on sale now at www.phblues.ca, Java Docks and Strait Music.
