Pender Harbour & Egmont

The Egmont Community Club is hosting an elk hide drum making workshop this Saturday, March 7 at the Community Hall in Egmont.

The cost is $110 (covers the cost of all materials) per drum and at the end of the two days participants will have a complete 12" diameter drum and stick to take home and share with friends and family. For more details call 604-883-1379.

Pysanky Ukrainian Egg decorating with Joi Phillips is this Saturday, March 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Harbour Learning Centre at the Pender Harbour Community School.

This workshop is for ages 12 and over. Cost is $20. Come learn the ancient method and history of this beautiful form of Easter Egg dying

On Monday, March 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the School of Music in Madeira Park, the Pender Harbour Garden Club begins its spring season with guest speaker Carole Rubin.

My Green Thumb/Green Planet is a hard hitting and hilarious presentation about the environmental and social justice choices we make and the consequences we create when we garden. Rubin will share stories about going pesticide-free, right plant-right place, and using less water for a healthier garden, a healthier environment. Books will be available at the presentation. The Food Bank is open every second Monday from noon to 12:30 p.m. and is open this Monday, March 9.

Put your best foot forward and take in the magnificent beauty of our Coast Mondays and Wednesdays with the Pender Harbour hiking club. Call 604-883-2930 to join them.

The Women's Connection Gathering on Tuesday, March 10 at 10 a.m. at the School of Music will see a presentation by Yvonne Stowell from the Fibreworks Studio and Gallery, who will share her vision and experiences as a gallery owner and artistic mentor. Fibreworks showcases fibre art — basketry, paper, textiles, and wood — created by local, national and international artists in an innovative collection of yurts. On Tuesdays at the PH Community School come join the Ukulele Group, from 3 to 4 p.m. in this free session.

Ladies Night is at the shooting range on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sechelt Rod and Gun Club. Fee is $25 per night. Come have fun and learn the basics of shooting and gun safety.

On Wednesdays drop in for pickleball at the high school from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Harbourside Friendship meets every Thursday at the Community Hall.

Drop in for soccer at high school from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings.
