Pender Harbour

This Friday, Feb. 13, come spice up your Valentine's weekend with some Cajun music by Back Porch Reunion at the School of Music coffeehouse.

Also featured will be members of Halfmoon Bay Performing Arts singing some show tunes, and Nikki Weber's Kids with pop and jazz vocals (Walkey Sisters, with Axel Loitz on guitar, and Cam and Chris Peters playing guitar and flute).

Delicious desserts and tea and coffee are available. This lively show starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 112 in Madeira Park is hosting its annual Valentine’s dinner and dance this Saturday. Come and enjoy a three-course meal with roast beef as the main entrée. There will be live entertainment featuring Apasionado. Lori Carmichael and Randy Rayment make up this fantastic duo that play a wide range of music that will suit everyone’s taste. Tickets are available at the Legion or Harbour Insurance for $30 each.

The Pender Harbour Wildlife Society meets this Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at Pender Harbour Secondary School.

This is the annual general meeting and annual reports will be read and elections held for executive and directors. Members are urged to attend.

Guest speaker for the meeting is Anayansi  (Ana) Cohen-Fernández, a biologist and reclamation specialist. Everyone is welcome. There is no charge and refreshments will be served.

The Ukulele Group meets Tuesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Harbour Learning Centre at Pender Harbour Community School.

Interested in learning to produce a fabulous and effective email newsletter? Then this is the course for you on Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Harbour Learning Centre.

Ladies shooting night will be held on Wednesdays (Feb. 18 to March 25) from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sechelt Gun Club. Ages 16-plus. Cost is $25 per night plus ammunition.

Join this great, fun group of ladies as they learn the basics of shooting and gun safety.

The Pender Harbour Advisory Council invites all Pender Harbour and area community organizations to a community forum to discuss items of mutual interest. The forum will be held at the School of Music on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.

Harbourside Friendship meets every Thursday at the Community Hall.

On Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. catch Francois Houle and Jane Hayes in a concert at the School of Music.
