Pender Harbour & Egmont

The annual Pender Harbour Christmas lighted boat parade is tonight, Friday, Dec. 19.

Anyone who has a boat and is prepared to decorate it with Christmas lights would be very welcome to join the parade. Boats will assemble in Garden Bay at 5:30 p.m. and the parade will start around 6, following a route around and the Harbour. Boats will tie up at Fisherman’s Resort after the parade for a pot luck dock party. Call Charlie Park at 604-883-0453 or Bob Fielding at 604-740-2400 for more details.

Family Music Night — Christmas edition is tonight, Friday, Dec. 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the School of Music. Bring your favourite carols or just come on along and sing. It will be a lovely, casual evening of singing together and celebrating the holidays.

The Harbour Gallery (across from the Music School) presents their annual Christmas sale, this Saturday, Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The membership has put together a 12-piece mosaic canvas, which will be silent auctioned with proceeds going to the Ada Priest Memorial bursaries. The Legion Christmas ham/turkey, pie auction is Saturday, Dec. 20.

At the Sunday meat draw there will a further 10 donated turkeys. The Legion will then be closed until Jan. 7. New Years tickets will be available at Harbour Insurance. Reminder that 2015 membership dues are now payable.

Saturday is your last chance to find that unique gift or clothing item at the Bargain Barn before it closes for the holidays, reopening on Jan 14.

The Pender Harbour Seniors Initiative is hosting a Polar Express Christmas light tour on Dec. 22. Bus departs at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 with tickets on sale at Harbour Insurance.

On Dec. 29, it’s The Nutcracker live at the Raven’s Cry Theatre in Sechelt. Cost is $39. Bus departs at 12:45 p.m.

On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 the Christmas Cantata Choir is pleased to present Darkness Into Light at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church at 4 p.m.

St. Mary’s Hospital/Healthcare Auxiliary would like to thank all the non-members who did baking for their Christmas craft fair, they really appreciated your help in making it a huge success.
