Come walk or just join in the fun and festivities this Sunday, Sept. 7 at the BCSPCA Paws for a Cause event to prevent animal cruelty. Registration is 11 a.m. the walk starts at noon at the beautiful Cliff Gilker Park. Visit my participant page to donate and register on-line at spca.bc.ca/walk.

The registration deadline for Drawing Fundamentals Session 2: Colour Theory has been extended to Sept 7. Join instructor Shelley Stunell Sept 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, and 24. Register at www.penderharbourheritage.ca.

The Pender Harbour Aquatic and Fitness Centre welcome everyone back.

This Monday, Sept. 8 all drop-in fitness classes begin.

The facility has new weekend hours Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon and Sunday afternoons 1 to 4 p.m. Every Sunday family admission is just $5.

The Pender Harbour Garden Club will hold its first fall meeting this Monday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. at the School of Music. Topics to be covered include: what to grow this winter, planting a fall planter and pesticides. There will be a giveaway donated by Rona.

The same day, Sept. 8, girls interested in Guides, Brownies or Sparks are invited to attend and information/registration meeting from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Pathfinders for girls in grades 7 to 9, will have their meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the lobby of the pool or outside weather permitting. On Wednesday, Sept. 10 the PH branch of St. Mary’s Hospital Health Care Auxiliary will hold their first fall meeting at 1:30 p.m. at Lilies Lake Community Centre.

This small friendly group supports the hospital, programs at Totem Lodge, Shorncliffe, the Sechelt Thrift Shop and many more endeavours throughout the community. New members are always welcome. Annual fee of $10 is for insurance purposes.

Enjoy a morning of song with Jock and Evans when Harbourside Friendships gets together on Thursday, Sept. 11 starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Hall. Hot lunch is served at noon for $10. Cathy has more details if needed at 604-883-9760.
