The regular meeting of the Halfmoon Bay branch of St. Mary's Hospital/Healthcare Auxiliary is this Monday, April 14 at 9:45 a.m. at Cooper's Green. Visitors and new members welcome. Check out their website at www.stmarysauxiliary.com for more details.
The auxiliary would also like everyone to mark their calendars to save the dates of June 14 and June 15 to attend their Friends and Family Garden Tour. I will have more details in the coming months.
The Welcome Beach Community Association has set some more dates for pickleball at the Halfmoon Bay Elementary School gym.
You can try out this unique sport usually every Monday at 7 p.m. on April 14 and 28th. There is also a session on Wednesday, April 28th. May sessions include the 7th, 12th, 21st and 26th.
Both players and spectators are invited and all skill levels are welcome. Dress appropriately. All equipment is provided. Drop in charge is $3 or $20 for eight nights. This is a wonderful way to get in some exercise and chase away the winter cobwebs.
Welcome Wagon will take community information and free gifts to all newcomers to the Sunshine Coast. The annual Easter egg hunt is set for Sunday, April 20 at 2 p.m. at Connor Park. Halfmoon Bay Elementary School, who is helping to organize the event, welcomes families with children up to Grade 7. They are most grateful to local sponsors, Welcome Woods Market, Halfmoon Bay volunteer fire department, Creative Party Services as well as school parents and students.
