Happy New Year to everyone.

The Halfmoon Bay Year-book Club is having a bottle drive on Saturday Jan. 6 in the school parking lot from 8:30 to 11 a.m. to help fundraise and lower the cost of the books to students. Bring your holiday empties. For more information, contact Wendy at 604-551-8461.

The Halfmoon Bay Branch of the SC Healthcare Auxiliary would like to thank the community for their support of the very successful jewelry and bag sale held on Dec. 10 at the Thrift Shop. There will be no meeting in January; the next meeting is Feb. 12 at Coopers Green at 9:45 a.m. Visitors and new members are welcome.

Wanted … HMB School is having a family dance and is looking for a volunteer dance teacher. Suggestions have been line dancing, where the students can learn during the day and teach their “old” parents at the family dance. Should be fun! Contact Wendy White at [email protected]

Early dates to mark on your calendar are July 7 and 8 for the Halfmoon Bay Fair. Normally held the second week of July, it becomes a little confusing as July 1 is the Sunday.

Oct. 19 to 21 are set for the Applefest and Art Crawl. We look forward to seeing residents when supporting local events.

To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
