Halfmoon Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

Don’t miss the Craft, Bake and Plant Sale hosted by Halfmoon Bay Branch of Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary, Nov. 25 in Trail Bay Mall, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Please note the change of time for pickleball Nov. 22; it will start at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. Both players and spectators are invited. All skill levels are welcome, and all equipment is provided. Drop-in charge is $3. This is a wonderful way to get in some exercise and meet the neighbours. No experience is required. Sponsored by Halfmoon Bay Community Association.

The annual general meeting for the Halfmoon Bay-Chatelech Community School Association will be held Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. in the library at Chatelech Secondary School. All are welcome to attend and they will be happy to welcome interested parties for election as directors to the board.

Planning has begun for this year’s Breakfast with Santa to be held at Halfmoon Bay Elementary School, Dec. 16. If you are available to volunteer, please contact Cindy Kisser at cindy.kisser@telus.net. Usually about 32 volunteers are required. Get your jingle on early; email Cindy today.

The Sunshine Coast Herring Enhancement project is looking to expand the scope of its program into Halfmoon Bay and Secret Cove. A team is needed to assemble and install, from January to March, artificial habitat at the best-suited docks. If you would be interested, please contact Sam Bowman 778-899-4518.

To have your say at the Bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at teknight@telus.net or 604-885-5034.
