Halfmoon Bay Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

The Breakfast with Santa fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 13 was a very delightful community event

The Welcome Beach Community Association would like to give a big thank you to all those that came and made the event such a huge success, so many happy kids, and generous donations of non-perishable food items for the food bank. Donations can be dropped off at Welcome Woods Market or Halfmoon Bay Café. Along with the non-perishable food items, the event raised $300 in cash for the food bank.

I am sure most people travelling at the northwest end of Redrooffs Road have looked and admired the small little chapel, which is the Parish of St. Columba of Iona. Everyone is invited to join them celebrate the annual Festival of Lessons & Carols this Saturday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m.

The new season of drop-in pickleball starts on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at Halfmoon Bay Elementary School. Plan to arrive by 7 p.m. for registration. All skill levels are welcome. Dress appropriately (runners and work out gear). All equipment is provided. Cost is $3 per session. Email doncunliffe@gmail.com for more information.

As this is my last column of 2014, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

If you have items to submit for the Jan. 2 column, please get them to me Monday morning, Dec. 29 as I have a noon deadline that Monday. Email me at teknight@telus.net or call 604-885-5034.
