Halfmoon Bay Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

Pickleball continues at Halfmoon Bay Elementary School with the next session Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Plan to arrive by 7 p.m. for registration. All skill levels are welcome. Dress appropriately (runners and work out gear). All equipment is provided. Cost is $3 per session. All sessions will be on Wednesdays until Dec. 10. Email [email protected] for more information.

The Welcome Beach Community Association (WBCA) is sponsoring a Breakfast with Santa fundraiser for the food bank.

The event began as a casual discussion between Wendy Pearson from the Halfmoon Bay Information and Referral Centre and WBCA, but has now taken on a life of its own. Residents are stepping up and volunteering to help. We now have a professional photographer, Bob Sutcliff, who is donating his time for personal Photographs with Santa a.k.a. school bus driver Tom Thelner, and Mrs. Claus, a.k.a. Patrice Sheward, The Grinch, who will try to steal Christmas, Dorothy Fraser, and many elves courtesy of the Halfmoon Bay Elementary School council.

We also have talented volunteers who will help decorate and create a wonderful Christmas atmosphere in the school gym. There will also be carol singers, cooks who will make Christmas theme pancakes, a make your own ornament table and many more fun and festive activities to help start the season off on a happy note.

Make this new event part of your ‘Christmas Memories on the Sunshine Coast.’

Mark your calendars for Saturday, Dec. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Halfmoon Bay Elementary School.

Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children or $20 per family, available at Pastimes Toy Store and Sunshine Coast Social Services, Welcome Woods Market, HMB General Store and HMB Café.
