Halfmoon Bay Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

Last weekend’s 48th annual Halfmoon Bay Country Fair was a huge community success.

The atmosphere was electric. The park was decorated with banners, there were pony rides, ‘Pan” the stilt-walker, bingo was played, cakes were won at the cakewalk, and it was lots of fun with games for everyone.

There was even a petting zoo this year. How many times do you take a potbelly pig for a walk?

Welcome Beach Community Association (WBCA) president Terry Karleen, wishes to thank all the groups that participated, the musicians who played centre stage, the volunteers that showed up in record numbers, the many sponsors that helped make the event possible.

We are hoping for an even more successful fair next year, our 49th year!

There will be a family picnic for all ages, this Monday, July 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Coopers Green Park. Everyone is welcome. There will be kids’ games, family games, a team scavenger hunt, sing-a-long and bocce ball. Come and enjoy yourself with friends and neighbors at beautiful Coopers Green Park.

The (WBCA) annual golf tournament is Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. at the Pender Harbour Golf Club. The tournament is limited to the first 36 registrants. Your $60 registration includes nine holes of golf with a power cart, lunch, prizes and a lot of fun and camaraderie.
