Roberts Creek

Another Creek Daze has come and gone, with lots of fun and lots of activity with great music. Congratulations to the team who managed to get it in place. Good job! The folks at the Library Book Sale looked very busy, so I assume we will hear in time for next week’s column how well they did.

The Little Legion welcomed many well wishers dropping by to offer congratulations. Happy 70th anniversary, Roberts Creek Legion! Well done!

This week at Slow Sundays, Aug. 20, you will be entertained with Bellows and Bows (Anna Lumiere and Noah Ord) from 2 to 2:45 p.m. followed by Fun and Fabulous Rising Stars, a collection of Graham Walkers prodigies. Be sure to drop by and support all who participate in Slow Sundays for your enjoyment.

Also on Sunday, Aug. 20, is The Dawn in concert, 7:30 p.m. at Roberts Creek Hall. The Dawn is one of the most influential and longest-running Filipino rock bands in the Philippines. They are celebrating their 30th anniversary and have added the Sunshine Coast to their tour. So call a friend or two and plan to enjoy the taste of the Filipino music as The Dawn rocks the hall. Call Mercy at 604-741-7880 and get your tickets today. Partial proceeds will go to the Sunshine Coast Filipino-Canadian Association.

Don’t forget to visit the Farmers’ Market on Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Hall.

Scouts will be starting at Camp Byng in mid-September. If you would like more information about this great outdoor program, call 604-741-7282 for Beavers, Cubs and Sea Scouts.

That puts a wrap on this week. Hope to hear from you with your information for this column. Email [email protected]
