There are two great events this weekend at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt, and the Masonic Hall in Roberts Creek both sponsored by the Live and Learn Program of One Straw Society.

On Saturday, Dec. 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Rockwood, check out traditional Indian Parantha with Sarita Moodie. You will lean how to make traditional Indian unleavened bread called Parantha. Class fee is $10. Please pre-register via email [email protected].

The Roberts Creek Library and its staff wishes your seasons greetings and wants you to note that the library will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day.

No one has come forward so far to coordinate the Roberts Creek Christmas dinner at the hall. We have lots of volunteers, but someone is needed to oversee or we will regrettably have to cancel this great community event. Anyone interested can email: [email protected].

The 6th Roberts Creek Scouts have once again decorated a Christmas tree located in the Heart of the Creek. Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all made the lovely decorations.

On Saturday, Jan. 3 the group will hold their annual bottle drive at Caps off Bottle Depot behind Claytons Heritage Market in Sechelt. If you have any return-for-deposit bottles and cans please call 604-885-2282 for pickup. All funds raised are use for equipment and activities for the group.

If you have notices for events, meetings etc. for the first week of January please submit the information now. Christmas deadlines have been pushed ahead, so you would not want to miss out. I must have this information by Dec. 24.

Enjoy your Christmas preparations. If you have submissions for next week please submit to [email protected].
