Roberts Creek

Partake in the annual Christmas fundraiser hosted by the SC Grandmothers and Grandothers this Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Creek Hall.

All are welcome for a warm lunch of homemade soups and baking while shopping for handmade gifts, local crafts, books, baking table and silent auction. All proceeds from this event will go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers to Grandmothers campaign partnering with Grandmothers in Africa.

Also this Saturday, come on down to the Roberts Creek Legion for a Rock N’ Roller Derby Fundraiser starting at 9:30 p.m. with three bands — Beergasm, Sob Story and Spicy Combo with Rob Morton. Come dance the night away while helping to support the local Sunshine Coast Roller Girls raise money for travel for their team.

Tickets are $5 for Legion members or $10 for guests with members, available at the door.

Recent events in Ottawa makes Remembrance Day’s message more poignant this year. The Roberts Creek Legion Branch No. 219 invites the community to share the ceremony of Remembrance, gathering on the front lawn at 10:45 a.m. this Tuesday, Nov. 11. Lunch will be served afterwards (children welcome) and the branch will be open all day.

If you would like to book the Creek Hall for your next community event, call 604-885-2715 or email hallmanager@robertscreekcommunity.ca.
