Bonar Harris is the featured performer this Friday, Sept. 5 at the Creek Legion.

Come by for dinner between 6 and 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Sept. 6, the local trio A.D.D. invites musicians to bring their instruments for a hosted jam from 8 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $2 for Legion members and $4 for guests with members.

There will be no book sale at the Roberts Creek Library this Saturday.

The next Saturday book sale will be in October.

A shoreline land art workshop is this Saturday, Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3667 Beach Avenue. Cost is $75 (sliding scale available).

Join Viveka and Sarita as they guide you in an exploration of making art in cooperation with nature. The workshop includes an introduction to land art, techniques, review of other artists’ work, guidance and support while you make your own piece on a beautiful Roberts Creek beach. This Saturday, Sept. 6 enjoy a double bill event starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Creek Hall with the showing of Northern Grease, that premiered at the 2014 Vancouver Mountain Film Festival and then enjoy the live music of Carmanah (as featured in the film’s soundtrack). The event is a fundraiser for the Elphinstone Logging Focus.

Tickets are $20, available at MELOmania or at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The 6th Roberts Creek Scout Group will hold early registration at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Camp Byng, 2139 Lower Road. They will offer an introductory program from 6 to 7 p.m. for all Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. All registered, new members and interested parties encouraged to attend.
