About 160 officers from across Vancouver Island took part in a ceremony at the B.C. legislature Tuesday to remember the three Mounties killed in New Brunswick last week.
The participants included representatives of Island RCMP detachments, the Victoria, Saanich, Central Saanich and Oak Bay police departments, the B.C. Ambulance Service, B.C. Sheriffs Service, Department of National Defence personnel, military police, and the legislature’s security service.
Chaplain Ben Yablonski and RCMP Chief Superintendent Ray Bernoties addressed a crowd of about 300 officers and civilians.
